A. is an artist, teacher and healer of the heart who devotes her life to celebrating the power of the arts as a living , awakening source of Soul healing and Spiritual renewal. Therapeutic arts help us enormously in times of illness, loss and transition as we move through challenges toward self-realization and release old patterns that no longer serve us. We are sustained with wisdom and spiritual guidance that stream toward us through the practice of the arts. As the I Ching, The Chinese Book of Changes says" Creativity comes from awakening and directing our higher natures, which originate in the primal depths of the universe and are appointed by heaven". A spiritual practitioner's work may look like medical clairvoyance, prayer, rebirth, religion, soul retrieval, or spiritual healing. http://www.shamansense.org/shamanic.htm From a shamanic point of view, the source of all things is Spirit. In a healing, the shaman journeys to the source of the illness or disharmony, in the spirit realm, and effects a change there so that healing can occur here. This means that the shaman is bringing energy back from the spirit world to put it were it belongs in the physical world, or removing energy from the physical world and returning it to were it belongs in the spirit world. > |

Looking at photographs often helps individuals remember memories and events more clearly. Sometimes putting photographs on paper and then manipulating them can give an individual a sense of control over the memories that are associated with that picture. By creating decorations, embellishments, and drawing to go with the picture, it can give them the control over that particular situation. If a child is facing a difficult or traumatic memory, they can take a picture of something that reminds them of that memory, and then 'fix' that memory on paper, thus helping them in their healing process. Of course, the same is true for happy memories, with pictures of happy events providing some positive feelings for a child that may experience precious few of those. Scrapbooking gives a child the perspective they might not have had otherwise. Scrapbooking also provides occupational therapy for kids who have been injured. Scrapping and stamping helps develop fine motor skills that might have been damaged during an injury. Besides, scrapbooking and stamping is fun!!! |
